Invercargill Flight Turns Back

An Air New Zealand flight out of Christchurch bound for Invercargill had to turn around and land shortly after take off because of an "undercarriage problem" this afternoon. Air New Zealand Christchurch Airport services manager Ian Donaldson confirmed a flight from Christchurch, scheduled to land in Invercargill at 4.30pm, had to return as a precaution. "Shortly after take-off they discovered an issue with the undercarriage. It was definitely not an emergency, very routine," Mr Donaldson said. He said passengers were transferred to another aircraft.
