Salt Air Airvan westbound

Salt Air's Gippsland GA8 Airvan ZK-MAB has departed its Kerikeri home 06 June on a direct flight to Melbourne/Essendon with a planned 11hr 58min flight time!

ZK-MAB was delivered to Kerikeri on 31 October 2008 as VH-BQY and arrived from Latrobe Valley and Lord Howe Island.

Its departure comes hot on the heels of their Cessna 208B Caravan ZK-MJL changing ownership to Sounds Air of Wellington on 17 May this year.

  1. The Airvan, after clearing customs, departed for the manufacturer's Latrobe Valley airstrip. Looks like the flight time ended up 13hrs 40 minutes for this epic Tasman crossing.
